The names of Neil Armstrong, Yuri Gagarin and Tim Peake are well known, but fewer people would cite Valentina Tereshkova, Sally Ride and Helen Sharman so quickly, even though their achievements are equally notable. Women have always played an important role in human spaceflight, but whilst the gender balance is improving the space industry is still a male-dominated field. In her talk, Libbywill explore the history and future of humans in space, shining a light some of the unsung heroes of the space race.
Libby Jackson is one of Britain’s leading experts in human spaceflight, having spent over a decade working at the forefront of the field.
